Join the Battelle Center for a behind-the-scenes learning experience at COSI, one of the nation’s leading science centers. The visit will begin with a conversation on the role of science centers in shaping public understanding of science and technology, and how cultural institutions intersect with public policy, education, and workforce development. Students will explore how organizations like COSI translate complex scientific ideas for the public and influence the broader innovation ecosystem.
Following the discussion, students will receive an introduction to the special exhibition The Science Behind Pixar before exploring it themselves. The exhibit reveals the real science, technology, engineering, art, and math behind Pixar’s beloved films, offering a hands-on look at the intersection of creativity, computation, and storytelling. The visit will include time for Q&A and open exploration of the exhibition and the museum.
Transportation will be provided at 2:30 and we will be getting back to campus at 5:30.
Space is limited to 30 students.
