Lauren Doocy is a Postdoctoral Scholar working in the Battelle Center for Science, Engineering and Public Policy at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. She is the data science lead on local projects focused on optimizing education opportunity within the state to adequately prepare the next generation of Ohio’s workforce.
Lauren earned her bachelor’s in mathematics and physics at Simpson College, her master’s degree in applied and computational mathematics at Florida State University, and Ph.D. in modeling and simulation at the University of Central Florida.
Her research leverages computational data science methods for issues of public interest. She applies computational modeling to research areas such as urban accessibility, food environment, community-engaged food security, drinking-and-driving prevalence and risk, education opportunity, and workforce development. She offers data processing, analysis, and visualization expertise to multidisciplinary teams by improving data literacy within all phases of research.
