A panel of former NASA Astronauts will be talking about their careers, their passion for space exploration, and encouraging civic engagement for students. Dr. Linda Godwin

Dr. Godwin joined NASA in 1980 and became an astronaut in 1986. During her career, Godwin completed four space flights and logged over 38 days in space. She also served as the assistant to the director for exploration, Flight Crew Operations Directorate at the Johnson Space Center. She was the first woman to perform spacewalks outside two different space stations, Mir in March 1996 and the International Space Station in December 2001. 

USN Captain Steve Frick

Captain Frick is veteran of two Space Shuttle missions. He arned a degree in aerospace engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1986, was commissioned as a United States Navy officer, and trained as an F/A-18 fighter pilot. He was selected as a NASA astronaut candidate in 1996 and was trained as a Space Shuttle pilot. He piloted mission STS-110, a docking mission with the International Space Station. In July 2006, Frick was assigned to command the crew of STS-122 on a 12-day mission in February of 2008.
