Student, Carl Ey, speaking with a representative of DLA
Battelle Center and Glenn College Military Community Advocate, Carl Ey, speaks with a representative of the Defense Logistics Agency after our Meet & Greet event.

Ohio State Battelle Center for Science, Engineering and Public Policy has a running partnership with the Military Community Advocate program on Ohio State’s campus. For the past 5 years, the center has had a student Military Community Advocate (MCA) that runs events to help military connected students feel more connected to their community and find opportunities.

This year, Carl Ey, a graduate student in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, is the MCA for the college and has been putting together events for students, including one with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) just last week.

Carl brought in DLA to talk to students about the opportunities that are available to them for jobs and internships throughout the organization. Especially opportunities that would be most beneficial and desire those with previous or current military connections.

DLA also offered a short training on how to best navigate the application process, how students can best showcase their qualifications, and what to avoid when applying for positions. This was an extremely valuable part of the presentation as students had questions about the process and how they can approach these opportunities.

This event was a great opportunity for students to learn more about how their military experience can be an asset on the job market.
