Liping Li
Liping is a third-year PhD student in Operation Research at the Department of Integrated & Systems Engineering at The Ohio State University. Driven by a passion for clean energy, she has been exploring the optimization of energy system modeling, renewable energy integration, energy market design, and energy policy. The transition to a low carbon energy regime requires the efforts of industry, businesses, academia, and government. Energy policy is essential to ensure an affordable, equitable, and sustainable energy future. Because of this, Liping is interested in bridging the gap between academic research and the policy-making process. In addition to her experience and technical research on power systems from her first Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, she has been recognized as an Empowerment fellow for her commitment to interdisciplinary research in energy technology, economics, and mathematical optimization.
Liping loves hiking, traveling, reading, and cooking in her spare time. Recently, she has been very into biking and jogging with her toddler son.
As an Ohio Public Interest Fellow, Liping is working with the Drive Ohio in the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to bridge the gap between STEM and public affairs.
